Turning Rejection into a Re-Route

November 16, 2020

In case you missed my IG Live with Amanda Ortega, we spoke on the topic of rejection as an actor, and ways to keep a positive outlook even when faced with rejection.

A quick re-cap:

- Think of rejection as a re-route, pointing you in the direction that you're supposed to go in.

-What is meant for you will not pass you by.

-When given a no, create your own yes

-It is worth the risk of embarrassment to audition your talents.

-Live by the 48-hour rule: Allow yourself to feel all the feelings in those 48 hours following rejection: anger, hurt, frustration, sadness, etc. Then allow yourself to move on after sitting with those emotions.

-Treat yourself after an audition - you deserve it!

Rejection isn't easy, but it is always going to be there as a performer. Learn healthy ways to cope with it so that you can go out and book the jobs that were meant for you!

If you have no clue where to start or pick back up from where you last left off, reach out to me! That is what I am here for - we will build you a custom audition package that is specific and personal to you - showing you off at your best!

As always, please reach out if you have any questions on anything whatsoever. My schedule is wide open and I would love to work with you! Visit alyssaflowers.nosweatrep@gmail.com to book a session, or simply reply to this email!

Take care!
