
Tales of an Introverted Performer
I want to talk about something that is not ever really spoken about in the theatre world: What it’s like being a professional actor while also being an introvert. Yes, we exist, yes, we are the exception, and yes, you can still love being on stage while not being the most social butterfly.

Weigh-In On This
It is long past time that men stop commenting on our bodies and what they think our “acceptable weight” should be. I will always stand by the fact that as long as you can perform your role well and to the capacity it needs to be at, it should not matter what you look like. We need to stop using the excuse that it’s because of “company standards” or “because you need to be able to fit into the costume of the previous/other performer.”

Non-Equity Actor: NYC Edition
2025 has been the year of diving head-first into the NYC audition scene. This season I have been in plenty of non-equity open calls, EPAs, ECCs, and scheduled audition appointments. I started compiling a list of things I found along the way when it came to feeling my best at auditions, and what I can do ahead of time to allow myself lower stress and more confidence in the room!

EMC NO MORE
As of February 8, 2023, the Actor’s Equity Association has announced that their Open Access enrollment will become permanent, and the EMC program will completely be gone by May of 2026.
